John R. Stewart Family Preserve

As a family, the Stewarts have a long history in the North Fork Canyon that began at the turn of the 20th century.  On October 4th, 2000, their land stewardship came full circle as the family announced their decision to forever preserve the much-photographed horse pasture, located along SR-92, along with additional family lands in the canyon.  The John R. Stewart Family Preserve lands will be protected by a conservation easement held by Utah Open Lands. The gift of preservation was made in memory of John R. and Esther Call Stewart.

“We of this generation pledge the remaining undeveloped land so that the land shall remain as they knew it and so that future generations will know what it was (is) to be a Stewart.”
